Partnership between iRacing and SCCA

In a recent Press release, iRacing announced their partnership with SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). This news means that  both companies will be developing several marketing strategies in conjunction with several upcoming events.

“We’ve been working with iRacing.com since before the product was publicly launched and feel that it is the best simulator for driver training and the best value available,” SCCA VP of Marketing & Communications Eric Prill said.

This partnership will also grant SCCA members a discount to the iRacing Subscription, to add to this the SCCA Spec Racer Ford (released a short while ago) is being included in the iRacing basic Subscription package.

Spec Racer Ford in iRacing – Free update for iRacing Members

iRacing have been in the news quite a bit the last few days, and to add to their developments they have released the Spec Race Ford. Known as the granddaddy of one design class road racing, the Spec Racer Ford is available as a free update to all iRacing members.
An open-cockpit, closed – wheel sports/racer, the Spec Racer Ford’s light weight gives it good performance with a 105-horsepower four-cylinder engine, and it’s mid-engine design gives it nimble handling characteristics. A limited range of suspension adjustment means that it’s good for drivers just beginning to explore chassis tuning. Expect lots of close, fun racing with this classic-design racing car.

New Software Release – iRacing

iRacing has announced that its new build has been released. Every 3 months they release a new build of this software. iRacing states that this build includes improvements to the physics modeling.

In keeping up with market trends, iRacing has also made the addition of Paypal as a payment method for suscriptions and extra purchases.

A new “Events” section on the main nav of the members’ site are tops among the Web changes. Also sure to be popular are substantial updates to the “Customize Car” section of the site. You can now add sponsor decals to your car – including new member-created club logos – as well as select the color and font for your car number. For a full rundown of all the changes, make sure to read the latest Release Notes, posted in the forum last week by Steve Myers.
